I enjoy helping people find things that enable them connect to and take pleasure in their personal environment.
As realtors, my business partner Kathy Panning and I help buyers and sellers transition into or out of a home. A home for most people must be comfortable, personal, be a stage for self-expression, basically a home should make the owner FEEL GOOD. It’s not only the design of the home, the size, flow of rooms or amenities within that define the FEEL GOOD but it’s what the owner puts in and around a home that makes it his or her, or their, own.
A place to hang your art is going to explore local art galleries and museums, home innovations available and local real estate. I spend a lot of time looking at and exploring all of these things so I thought maybe I would share.
I have been a docent at the Columbus Museum of Art for 10 years and in that time I have come to a realization about people and art. Many people are afraid to buy original art. I am not talking about “museum quality art”, which I could try and define but won’t, but art available in local galleries around town by many talented Ohio artists. Buy what you like! Doesn’t have to match a sofa, or the curtains but maybe that’s what you like—so buy it. But buy an original. The cost often is more affordable than you think and many galleries will take payments. Let’s stop buying the Monet prints machine made out of China and buy local!
There are some very cool home products and “green” innovations available. I will use this forum to showcase some of those including modular housing, a personal interest! Stay tuned for what is to come.
